Danville police arrest man for string of vehicle thefts

A Danville man has been arrested for breaking into vehicles during the past four days and stealing valuables.

According to Danville Police, Eric Thomas Roach, 30, of Danville, was identified and apprehended Monday in reference to these recent thefts. Several items have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners. The Danville Police said this is once again a reminder to lock vehicles and don’t leave valuables in plain sight.

The police have been investigating several cases in which valuables had been taken from unlocked vehicles during the overnight hours, the earliest of which was reported June 22. In some of these cases, victims’ credit cards were used to make purchases around town. 

Roach is charged with multiple counts of first-degree unlawful access to a computer; multiple counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card; and several counts of receiving stolen property.

Other charges are expected as t   he investigation continues. Roach was being held in the Boyle County Detention Center Monday evening; bond had not been set.
