Mrs. Cordelia Alexander Kubale, 92, of Danville, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018.

Cordelia “Deedie” was born May 21, 1926 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Stuart Edgar Alexander Sr. and Evelyn Taylor Currey Alexander. She was raised in Durham NC by her uncle and aunt, the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Farley. Deedie graduated from Centre College June 10, 1946 and earned her teaching credentials from Eastern Kentucky University. She married local farmer and former Boyle County Magistrate Edwin Kubale, Jr., on October 6, 1949 in Durham NC. She was employed for many years as a Biology Teacher at Boyle County High School and continued to be a lifelong learner. She was a very active member of The Presbyterian Church of Danville, member of The Stephen Ministry, member of the Danville Country Club Ladies Tuesday Golf League, enjoyed her Bridge Club and Book Club, faithful supporter of the Boyle County Public Library, Board member of Bellevue Children’s Home, Centre College Alumni Board and an active member of the Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Kubale Jr. and brother, Stuart Edgar Alexander, Jr. of Louisville, KY.

She is survived by four children, Edwin Kubale III and his wife, Judy, of Danville, Mariam Currey Kubale of Peachtree Corners, Ga., Cordelia Kubale Pendygraft and her husband, Robert of Danville, and James Farley Kubale and his wife, Karen, of Lexington; her grandchildren, James Richard Witten, Cordelia Currey Witten, David Fox Pendygraft, Anne Laney Pendygraft, Levi Edwin Kubale and Allie Smith; her great-grandchild, Cady Pendygraft and several nieces and nephews. The Family wishes to acknowledge the loving services provided by caregiver, Denise Parr.

Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, prior to the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM in The Presbyterian Church Sanctuary. Rev. Jane Love will officiate. The family will receive friends at a reception in the Fellowship Hall following the memorial service. The interment will take place in Bellevue Cemetery after the reception. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to The Presbyterian Church Stephen Ministry, Danville, Kentucky and Millennium Park of Danville, Kentucky.
