Bobbie Estes

1936-2018

Bobbie Estes, 82, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 in Nicholasville. Being the oldest of six children, he was born March 24, 1936 at home in Lancaster, KY, to the late Ted & Florence Montgomery Estes.

He entered the Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1960. He worked for IBM for thirty years, & in his retirement years until his death, enjoyed farming on his farm in Lancaster. In addition to his wife Judy, & his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters; Rosalee, & Doris Estes. Survivors include two children; son, Gregory Estes, & a daughter, Shante (Rick) Birchum, both of Nicholasville; brother, Gordon Estes; sisters, Betty Jo (Dave ) Burge, & Wanda Hale; six grandchildren, Tara, Anthony, Kyle, & Jacob Estes, Jessica Dutton, & Rickey Birchum; three great-grandchildren, & a host of nieces & nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church of Danville (2734 Old Stanford Rd., Danville, KY 40422) with Rev. Don Fortner officiating & burial following at Lancaster Cemetery, with full military rights performed by Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 PM Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the church.
