Meeting

Boyle County Public Library Boards of Trustees — 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9 in the conference room at the library, 307 W. Broadway. The meeting is open to the public.

Danville-Boyle County Recreation Commission — 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the Rotary-Kroger Shelter at Millennium Park. Items on the agenda include: treasurer’s reports; programs reports; maintenance report involving gates at the fairgrounds and the volleyball court; and new business concerning September fundraising for DYF; soccer signage, audio repairs and revising the football field name to “Ed & Deedie Kubale Jr.”

In the story “Perryville heats up” printed in the Aug. 3-4 weekend edition, resident Sylvia Hensley was referring to council member Paul Webb as the person who told her to “sit down” during July’s Perryville City Council meeting, not the police chief.
