The 43rd annual Cocanougher reunion (although we have newspaper clippings and pictures dating back to 1908 of various reunions of this family) was held Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Perryville American Legion Hall. Forty-eight were present and a bountiful potluck meal was served. 

After the meal was recognition of the one who came the greatest distance. This was Nancy White Neikirk of Westfield, Mass. She was presented with a Washington County, Ky., tobacco stick restored by Felix Reynolds, also a Cocanougher cousin.

The recognition of the oldest was almost a draw with Peggy White, the mother of Nancy Neikirk, beating out John Locklin by about two weeks, as both will turn 90 in late November for Peggy and early December for John. Peggy was given a walking stick also made by Felix Reynolds.

Aug. 29, 2018, will be the 70th wedding anniversary of George and Peggy White.  Our congratulations to them.

A reading of those in the family who have died since our 2017 reunion was made. Bill and Beulah Cocanougher Jones were recognized. They retired last year from helping get the reunion together for several years. Our thanks for their years of service.

The reunion will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019, in the same place, the Perryville American Legion Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Looking forward to seeing these and more in July 2019.
