Lida Earl Gentry Young, 92, died Saturday, August 11, 2018.

Born July 5, 1926, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Hattie Lee Frederick Gentry. She attended Perryville Baptist Church and loved to spend her time sewing, crocheting, quilting, reading and cooking and especially with her family. She is the widow of Cleaster Alvin Young.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two great-grandsons, Justin Young and Chance Miller.

Lida is survived by three sons, Jack (Wanda) Young of Junction City, Jerry (Cindy) Young of Perryville and Gene Young of Danville; two daughters, Betty (Bill) Lay of Danville and Barbara (Mitchell) Warner of Hustonville; a sister, Betty Marie (Jerry) Edwards of Mitchellsburg; two brothers, Donald Gene (Joyce) Gentry of Lexington and Jimmy Ray (Brenda) Gentry of Lexington; 12 grandchildren, David Scott Young, Crystal Jo Cox, Daphney Crank, Buffey Davis, Amy Young, Shawn Robinson, Chad Fulton, Brian Young, Timothy Young, Charles Todd Lay, William Christopher Lay and Mitchell Bruce Warner II; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2018, at Stith Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Her grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
