The Boyle County Public Library offers many fun, educational events throughout the year. Weekly programs include Adult Storytime 9 a.m. Mondays, Coding Classes 4 p.m. Mondays, Crafters Who Care 6 p.m. Mondays, and Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. In addition to these weekly events, the following library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:

Great American Read Book Clubs for Tweens & Teens: 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.  The library will host two book clubs for the Great American Read, which features a list of America’s 100 best-loved novels. Both book clubs will include trivia themed games and snacks. On Monday, tweens (ages 9-13) will discuss “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. On Tuesday, teens (ages 13-18) will discuss “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. Tweens and teens interested in participating in either book club can register and pick up a free book at the library.

Adulting — Meal Prepping: 6 p.m. Monday. Learn tips and tricks on how to save time and money by prepping your meals in advance. Alethea Price with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension Office will discuss how to prepare cost effective healthy meals that fit a busy lifestyle.

Mouse Paint Tie Dye Workshop: 4 p.m. Tuesday. Children can create their own stuffed animal to take home. Participants will stuff and tie dye a mouse using special bottle paint to make a colorful creation. Space is limited and registration is required. Call the library to register. (Ages 5-8)

Breakout at the Library: 4 p.m. Thursday. The library will host multiple Breakout events for ages seven and up. Participants will have to follow the clues, solve the puzzles, and discover the lock combinations to open the mystery box before time runs out. Breakout Room will be in the Storytime Room, and for ages 7-13. Teen Breakout will be in the Mahan meeting room, for ages 13-18. Adult Breakout will be held 4p.m. and 5 p.m. in the conference room, for ages 18 and up.
