The new $26,000 fire engine for the Danville Fire Department, a Peter Pirsch & Sons Company’s triple combination, arrived here from Wisconsin on Aug. 20, 1960. The engine has a 1,000-gallon capacity pump, a 500-gallon water tank. An engineer with the company will be in Danville for for two or three days to train city firemen in the handling of the new piece of equipment.
