Vote Linderman for U.S. House

Dear Editor,

Have you ever met a person that you just felt comfortable with and liked immediately?  That was my almost instant reaction when I first met Hank Linderman at a candidate’s forum held here in Danville on Feb. 20 of this year.

There were four candidates running to represent the Democratic Party in Kentucky’s Second District and, although all of them were good, Hank stood out from the rest. When the votes were counted after the primary held May 22, Hank was the clear winner with more than 30 percent of the votes.

First off, let me say that Hank is not a politician; and although he is an unapologetic progressive, the most often used word in Hank’s vocabulary is collaboration. Hank believes in the power of calm, reasoned discussion of the issues to persuade people of all economic beliefs to reach sensible and economically viable solutions to the problems that face this nation.

Time and time again I have seen people who initially thought they disagreed with Hank on one or more critical issues come to a new understanding following a two-way discussion and dialogue with Hank. He has the remarkable ability to listen and talk to people in a way that is respectful of their beliefs, but that does not shy away from articulating and communicating his own convictions. This is a talent and an ability that is sorely missing in Washington, D.C., where raised voices and red faces seem to be the order of the day.

So, on Election Day, Nov. 6, 2018, I earnestly ask for your vote to make Hank Linderman our Democratic Congressman from the Second District of Kentucky.
