Water service will be shut off Wednesday in areas of Parksville district

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, the Parksville Water District will make repairs to lines, causing a temporary suspension of service in the areas: Forkland Road, Carpenter’s Creek Road, Butchertown Road, Tar Lick Road, Crawford Hollow Road, the south side of Mitchellsburg Knob Road, Minor’s Branch Road, Elk Cave Road, Curtis Road and Medlock Road. Jerry Feather with the district said residents in the area should plan for service to be off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day, but it could resume sooner. The work being done is to repair lines damaged from the earlier flooding in the area.

Garrard County Farm Bureau Federation encourages all farmers and friends to attend the Annual Tobacco Cutting Contest in Bryantsville on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Garrard County Farm Bureau Federation will be sponsoring a Farmer Safety Event and health fair with information that could help save your life. Find out what it is like inside the Air Evac emergency helicopter. Sign up for their annual membership and save $20 with Farm Bureau status. We have invited a back care specialist, a substance abuse prevention organization, a yoga expert, emergency preparedness tech, fire district, electricity specialist, heart association administration and hearing test technician.
