Kenneth Atwood, 84, of Danville, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jacqueline Atwood.

Kenneth was born on May 27, 1934, in Liberty, to the late Ernest Lee and Tina Whited Atwood. He served our country proudly in the United States Army. Kenneth was a truck driver for Roadway Express for over 35 years.He enjoyed golfing, fishing, working on cars, but the most important aspect of Kenneth’s life was his love for Jesus Christ and his word, grandchildren, and family. Kenneth was a deacon and faithful member of Hedgeville Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Atwood (Kimberly) of Paducah and Brent Atwood of Bowling Green; two sisters, Louise Atwood and Jean Murphy, both of Liberty; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Ashton, Landon, Lauren and Lindsay Atwood.

Kenneth was also preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Lee Atwood Jr.; and a sister, Maxine Murphy.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Vincent Carman and Bro. Jonathan Grizzell officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Pallbearers are Matthew Atwood, Bryan McWhorter, Phillip Murphy, Kenneth Murphy, Keith McWhorter, and Keenan McWhorter.
