Lola Sarah Bryant Hopkins, 94, of Crab Orchard, passed away Wednesday, September 19, at Landmark Nursing Home of Lancaster. She was the widow of William Russell Abney and Walter Hopkins. Lola was born in Whitley County, on June 25, 1924, a daughter of the late Rev. John Wesley and Alice Clementine (Martin) Bryant. Lola was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening, farming, quilting, cooking and canning.

Survivors include her daughter, Etta Mae Frith of Caneyville; son, Doug Hopkins and wife Lisa of Brodhead; brother, James Bryant of Piqua, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 21 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Lola was preceded in death by three sons, Phillip, Marvin and Leroy Hopkins; daughter, Pernie (Tony) Shearer; 10 brothers, Clarence, Louis, Ancil, Henry, Ernest, Andy, Herman, Johnny Carl, Thurman and Roy Bryant; two sisters, Clara Bryant and Lena Toller; two grandsons, Richard “Dickie” Casselman and Tony Shearer II.

Funeral service 11 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Philadelphia United Baptist Church with Bro. Gordon Mink officiating. Burial will be in the Philadelphia Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at Philadelphia United Baptist Church.

Pallbearers include Allen Coffee, Walter, Jeff and Mark Hopkins, Zachary Martin, Barry Bryant, Kenny Frith.
