Gerald Wayne Martin

1949-2018

Gerald Wayne Martin, 68, of Crab Orchard, passed away Friday, September 21, at his home. Wayne was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 25, 1949. He was the son of the late Robert “Bobby” and Betty Jane (Fletcher) Martin. Wayne had retired in March of 2000 after working 28 years at Okonite Cable Company. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Kim and husband, Dale Lamb of Crab Orchard; son, Shane Simpson of Lexington; companion, Joy Dearinger of Crab Orchard; special friend, Mary Alice and husband, Jimmy Martin of Danville; special friend, Paula and husband, Garnett Tatum; aunt, Shirley Fletcher of Crab Orchard; uncle, William Lester Fletcher of Stanford; two grandchildren, Devin Michael and Laiken Rachelle Bradley; and two step grandchildren, Tyler and Andrew Lamb.

Funeral service 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Eggers officiating. Burial will be in the Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at McKnight Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Shane Simpson, Devin Bradley, Dale Lamb, Dickie Ledford, Lonnie Pruitt and David Price. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Dyehouse, Randy Ledford, Jimmy Martin and Charlie Ray.
