Marvin Lee Swann, Sr.

1931-2018

Marvin Lee Swann, Sr., 87, died December 7, 2018 in Danville, Ky., after a long illness. He was a deacon of First Baptist Danville and had a strong work ethic about himself to support his family. He was a member of Danville Yankee baseball team, which was part of the Negro League.

He leaves to cherish his memory a current wife, Eleanor Swann; five children, Carol Woods, Patricia Harris, Michaelene Swann James (Wil), Marvin Swann, Jr. (Becky), Larry Swann (Joann); sister, Mayme Davis; brother, George Cowan; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives as well as extended family.

Celebration of Life Service, Friday, December 14, 2018, 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at First Baptist Church, 2nd and Walnut in Danville, Ky. Burial at Hilldale Cemetery.
