1939-2018

Newman “Lenual” Brown, 79, of Crab Orchard, Ky., passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 peacefully as he was surrounded by his family, at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Ky.

Lenual was born in Lincoln Co., Kentucky on January 17, 1939, a son of the late Thelma Bryan (Simpson) and Cecil Alfred “Buck” Brown. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Nicholas) Brown whom he married on August 8, 1959. He was a retired employee from Ford Motor Company having worked for 30 years and three months. He was a faithful member of Bethel Church of Christ.

Survivors include wife, Virginia M. Nicholas Brown; two sons, Wendell and Rodger Brown; one daughter, Melissa Brown; three grandchildren, Kyle and Jordan Brown and Shyanne Denny; one sister, Sharon Gentry; one brother, Ron and wife Joyce Brown; and sister-in-law, Carol Brown.

In addition to his parents, Lenual was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Brown in 1999; and a brother-in-law, Carlos Gentry in 2003.

Funeral services 2 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with minister Bro. Dwight McMullin. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home.

Casketbearers include Jordan and Kyle Brown, Keaton Lunsford, Mike, David and James Nicholas. Honorary pallbearers include Russell Dunaway, Arlis Proctor, Bobby Proctor, Novice Gentry, Ron Brown, Billy Griffin and Vernon Price.
