Danville police: Man called in sexual threats to school, day care

A registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly making several sexually threatening calls to local facilities earlier in the day.

Jermaine Buster, 31, was arrested without incident by Danville City Police around 3 p.m. when officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle leaving the Perkins Avenue area in which he was a passenger, following an investigation into the calls.
According to police, Buster became a suspect after officers and investigators worked with phone providers to gather evidence, which pointed to Buster as allegedly making the calls.
Threatening calls had been made to Little Lighthouse Daycare, John W. Bate Middle School and First Care Clinic. The caller was making calls using a blocked number and made sexually explicit threats to employees and threatened to sexually assault students at the middle school and day care center. Police began their investigation around 10 a.m., right after the initial calls were made.
Buster has been charged with two counts of second-degree terroristic threatening; and one count third-degree terroristic threatening. He was being held in the Boyle County Detention Center Thursday on a $7,500 cash bond.
According to the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, Buster is on the registry for 20 years for a first-degree sexual abuse charge out of Jefferson County.
