The Housing Authority of Danville held an open house for its residents and the public to see its new Community Service Center on Toombs Court Thursday.
“Our vision for this center is that it becomes a centralized hub for support in the community for everyone that provides services or receives services, with the goals of economic empowerment; educational advancement; health and wellness and character leadership,” said Housing Authority Executive Director Tim Kitts in an earlier interview.
Despite the bitter wind Thursday morning, dozens of residents filed into the center to visit with each other and find out about the different programs and services being offered. Representatives from agencies partnering with the housing authority also stopped by to help celebrate its opening
