Meetings

Special Called Meeting of the Boyle County Fiscal Court — 10 a.m. Monday, March 4 at the Boyle County Courthouse, Room 106. Agenda includes: Discussion on the City of Danville Resolution on Parks and Recreation.

The Casey County Schools’ Local Planning Committee public forum — 5:30 p.m. March 11 at the Casey County Board of Education annex building, 3609 N. U.S. 127. Items to be discussed will be future building projects. The District Facility Plan lists the pending capital construction and/or renovation projects that the school district may undertake and the priority order, if applicable, that projects will be initiated. Copies of the proposed District Facility Plan are available for examination by interested individuals at the Casey County Board of Education, 1922 N. U.S .127, Liberty between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. through March 19. Questions may be directed to Superintendent Marion Sowders, at (606) 787-6941.

Anyone who would like to comment on the proposed District Facility Plan may present oral or written comments at the public hearing.  The local Board of Education, after due process, will forward the approved District Facility Plan to the Kentucky Department of Education for ultimate approval by the State Board of Education. The local Board public hearing is being scheduled in accordance with KRS 157.620, and regulated by 702 KAR 4:180.

The public forum will be immediately followed by a meeting of the Casey County Local Planning Committee.

The Garden Club of Danville — 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at the Boyle County Extension Service, 99 Corporate Drive. The program will be “Gardening for the Birds.”   Nic Patton from Wild Birds Unlimited in Lexington will discuss gardening for birds, including year-round feeding to care for our feathered friends.
