Joyce Ray (Moore) Combs

1934-2019

Joyce Ray (Moore) Combs, 84, of Crab Orchard, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Landmark of Lancaster. She was the widow of Earl C. Combs who preceded her in death on January 29, 2016. Joyce was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on November 10, 1934 to the late Roscoe and Mary Carroll (Watkins) Moore. She was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering for Hospice for many years.

Survivors include her three sons, Wayne and wife Nancy Combs of Danville, Jerry and wife Sharon Combs of Crab Orchard and Greg Combs of Crab Orchard; five grandchildren, Steve Combs and wife Robin, Justin Combs and wife Chelsea, Christopher Combs and wife Christina, Alexandria and husband Garett Bredar, and Lucinda Combs; sister, Carol and husband Bobby Varker; brother, Lloyd Moore and wife Margie; brother, Raeford Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral service will be at noon, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Harp officiating. Burial will be in the Crab Orchard Cemetery. Visitation after 6 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Wayne, Jerry, Greg, Steve, Christopher and Justin Combs. Honorary pallbearers are Alexandria Bredar and Lucinda Combs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either Heritage Hospice or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
