STANFORD — The Lincoln County High School track and field teams closed out their home schedule Tuesday afternoon, hosting nine different teams for the Lincoln All-Comers Meet.
Ten teams were scheduled to participate in the meet, however, Mercer County pulled out of the meet after the death of one of its athletes, senior Marcus Lewis, in a car accident over the weekend.
Prior to the start of the meet all of the athletes gathered in the middle of the track for a prayer and a moment of silence. All the athletes also wore blue and red ribbons on their uniforms, Mercer’s school colors, in memory of Lewis.

The Lincoln teams racked up a combined 23 top 3 finishes, including four wins, four runner-up finishes and three third-place efforts for the Lady Pats and three wins, five runner-up finishes and four third-place efforts for the Pats.
