Flying high

Morning Pointe of Danville residents Polly Hanks and Betty Sheaks are ready for takeoff! In honor of Wilbur Wright’s birthday, life enrichment director Nicole Walton was able to grant some of the personal care and Alzheimer’s memory care community’s residents the experience of a lifetime: the chance to fly in the cockpit of an actual airplane, courtesy of pilot J.W. Lynn of Hope Flight, a missionary organization that seeks to engage troubled teens by allowing them to experience the wonder of flight. “It was an absolutely incredible experience. We were able to fly right over Morning Pointe of Danville and wave to all our friends!” Walton exclaims. “We are so grateful to J.W. and Stuart Powell Field for extending this generous opportunity to us. It’s one we’ll never forget!”
