Memorial Day service planned
The Camp Nelson National Cemetery Memorial Day ceremony, hosted by Central Kentucky Veterans Committee, will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 27 at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery flag pole. The theme for the day is “Honoring the Service and Sacrifice of Veterans” with Capt. Walter Cox, U.S. Army, World War II veteran as guest speaker. Please arrive early.

KSP traffic checkpoints released
Kentucky State Police Post Seven will be conducting safety traffic checkpoints in the Post Seven area. Troopers will be checking for impaired drivers, children who are not properly restrained in child safety seats, and to inform the public about the use of seatbelts.
These safety checkpoints will be conducted in the following areas.
Boyle County — Old U.S. 127 at Airport Road; and Ky.37, 4 miles south of Junction City.
Garrard County — Ky. 954 at Copper Creek Road; Ky. 1295 at the Madison/Garrard county line; and U.S. 27 at Gilberts Creek.
Lincoln County — Ky. 39 at U.S. 150; Ky. 501 at Angel Ridge; and Ky. 198 at Ky. 698.
Hooves of Hope golf scramble
Hooves of Hope Equestrian Center will be hosting its second annual Golf Scramble 9 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at Old Bridge Golf Club. Anyone interested in participating may email Rhonda Bullock at rhonda.hoovesofhope@aol.com, or call (859) 792-8938.
All proceeds will go toward the center’s Operation Hope:Veterans Program and its At-Risk-Youth Program.
Hooves of Hope is a non-profit organization that provides children and adults, with diverse needs, a solid foundation for developing life skills through equine assisted activities and therapies, in a safe and caring environment.

Boyle County Fiscal Court — 10 a.m. Friday May 24 at courthouse (moved due to Memorial Day holiday). Tentative agenda includes: consider KALF/WC renewal, Michele Barrett; consider EMS medical compliance proposal/contract; consider inmate medical services contract amendments; present budget changes; and the first reading of the budget. Also, standing committee reports and new business. *Insurance Committee meets at 9 a.m. before regular meeting.
