Davis named ‘Emerging Leader’

 Chris Davis, Garrard County market manager and loan officer for Farmers National Bank, has been selected by the Kentucky Bankers Association (KBA) for its 2019 Emerging Leaders program. The KBA’s Emerging Leaders program is designed to find and develop future financial leaders in Kentucky through specific and comprehensive bank and community related activities.

“The Emerging Leaders program is our way of guiding the next generation of bankers into becoming exceptional leaders,” said Ballard W. Cassady Jr., president and CEO of KBA. “This program is a stepping stone; it not only provides them with experience and engagement among their peers, but it involves them with our organization by giving them a first-hand look at how we work together with our banks on a daily basis to ensure the success of our industry.”

Marty Gibson, president of Farmers National Bank, said Davis is a natural fit for the program. “Chris has shown strong leadership qualities at the bank and within the community. Having had other Farmers National Bank team members complete this program, it has enhanced their knowledge and allowed them to better serve our customers and community. Joiner and McMann earn CPFA credentials

 FNB Investment Services’ Jeff Joiner and Valery McMann, CFP, have attained Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) credentials from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA). Retirement plan advisors who earn their CPFA demonstrate the expertise required to act as a plan fiduciary or help plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.

Joiner is a vice president at Farmers National Bank and branch manager at Raymond James Financial Services. McMann is a vice president at Farmers National Bank and investment executive at Raymond James Financial Services. Together, they have more than 45 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Psychiatrist joins Ephraim McDowell Health

 Ephraim McDowell Health is pleased to announce that Osama Ali, M.D., psychiatrist, has joined the medical staff.

Dr. Ali is board-certified in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is also board-certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Ali has a special interest in treating patients with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders and patients with dual diagnosis.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling and reading history. He will be seeing patients at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Royalty joins Danville Family Physicians

  Ephraim McDowell Health welcomes family physician M. Brennan Royalty, M.D., to the medical staff. He will be seeing patients at Danville Family Physicians, located at 109 Daniel Drive.

Dr. Royalty earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from the University of Kentucky School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky, and a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Kentucky.  

Dr. Royalty is board-certified by the American Board of Family Physicians. He enjoys all aspects of caring for both children and adults and has special interests in preventative care, diabetes and sports medicine. 

Dr. Royalty and his wife Angela have four children. He enjoys spending his free time with family.

Shelburne nominated for DAISY Award

 Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Gina Shelburne, R.N., a nurse on the Medical/Surgical floor, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.  A resident of Boyle County, Gina has been caring for patients at EMRMC for over two-and-a-half years. 

She was nominated by a patient and their family member. The patient said, “During my stay, Gina was very attentive to my needs. She kept me informed of my situation at all times and educated me on my medications. Gina always portrayed professionalism and has a very positive demeanor. Gina would always be smiling when she entered my room asking if I needed anything even if I didn’t push the call button. Gina is a true professional and sets a great example for others to emulate.”
