Doris L. Mullins

1943-2019

Doris L. Mullins, 75, of Lancaster, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky.

Born on November 3, 1943 in Highland, Kentucky to the late Wallace Deward Mullins and Maud McGuffey Mullins. She was a homemaker for most of her life while also working in insurance for a portion of her life. She attended Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Highland, Kentucky in her early childhood and attended Fairview Baptist Church in Highland later in her life.

Survivors include four sons, Elmer L. Sparks (Terry) of Casey County, Kentucky, James P. Sparks (Karen) of Lancaster, Kentucky, Timothy W. Sparks of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Tommy Sparks (Misty) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one daughter, Selene Sparks of Berea, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey D. Sparks; four brothers, Hobert Mullins, Harold Mullins, William “Bill” Mullins and Paul Mullins; and four sisters, Carrie Burnell, Elizabeth Mullins, Mary Ann Mullins and Hazel Mullins.

A one day service has been scheduled for Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Highland, Kentucky. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Funeral service will begin on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Highland, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Highland, Kentucky.

Pallbearers are Thomas Sparks, Timothy Sparks, Thomas Sparks, Jr., David Sparks, Matt Canada, Warren Phillips, Jesse Coers and James P. Sparks. Honorary pallbearers are Elmer Sparks, Jr. and James W. Sparks.
