Our Savior Lutheran Church welcomes new minister

Our Savior Lutheran Church in Danville is welcoming and installing Pastor Justin M. Mason on Sunday, August 11 at 4 p.m. The service will take place at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, located at 285 N. Hill-N-Dale Street in Danville. Pastor Mason is a recent graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pastor Mason has moved to Danville with his wife Stephanie and children Maria, Anastasia and newborn baby Veronica, born just weeks ago.

Pastor Mason hold degrees from the University of Akron, the Pennsylvania State University and the Eastman School of Music, from which he graduated in 2011 with his doctorate in music performance (DMA).

“We are excited about the opportunity God has presented to us in the Danville area,” Pastor Mason said. “He has been working through Our Savior Lutheran Church to serve the community for over 50 years. I pray that my ministry here will continue to spread the message of God’s Salvation to everyone.”

The installation service will be preached by the Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege, President of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s Indiana District and attended by Pastor Michael Huebner of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lexington. The entire community is invited to attend the service.

Singing at Crossroads Assembly of God

The Mark Trammell Quartet (southern gospel) will be singing at Crossroads Assembly of God, South Main Street in Brodhead on Thursday, August 15 at 7 p.m. Ralph Reynolds, interim pastor. Everyone welcome.

Caring Friends Fellowship

The August meeting of the Caring Friends Fellowship for widows and widowers will be held at the First Baptist 127 Bypass Church Fellowship Hall, 1570 N. Danville Bypass, Danville, on Sunday, August 25. Serving of the meal prepared by the First Baptist ladies will begin at 12:30 p.m. Speaker will be David E. DeBrot, who is an Edward Jones Financial Advisor in Campbellsville. His presentation will be “Increase Your Income and Protect Yourself from Scams”. Cash donations will be accepted to cover the cost of the meat. Invite your widowed friends and neighbors to attend. The meeting will conclude by 2:30 p.m.

Singing at Mt. Salem Baptist

Cumberland Thunder will be singing at Mt. Salem Baptist Church on Sunday, August 11 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

St. James A.M.E. Church to celebrate anniversary

St. James A.M.E. Church, 124 E. Walnut Street, will celebrate its 146th anniversary on Sunday, August 11 at 3 p.m. The afternoon guest will be Bishop Ronald Ross and congregation of Temple of Deliverance Ministries, Richmond. Rev. Ralph Boyd Smith is the host pastor.

Salt River Baptist Church to celebrate anniversary

Salt River Baptist Church, 5125 Perryville Rd., will celebrate its 230th anniversary and homecoming on Sunday, August 18. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with singing by the Blakey Quartet. Bro. Alan Evans will be sharing a message from God’s Word. A meal will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Bro. Dave Evans is the pastor.

Blakely Quartet to sing

The Blakely Quartet will be bringing the Gospel in song at 11 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 11 at Perryville Methodist Church. All are invited to worship with us as we glorify the Lord together.
