Max L. Hoover died on August 17, 2019 in Danville, Kentucky. Max was a World War II Army combat medic soldier. He received a bronze medal with two bronze stars in the Invasion of the Philippines. After leaving the army, he went to work as a supervisor for, Matthew’s Conveyor. In his free time, he loved to play bridge and was even a bridge life master. Max was also a member of The Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Aloma Hoover; son, Kerry B. Hoover of Danville, Kentucky; daughters, Hope Hoover-Armstead (Tim Barrett) of York, Pennsylvania and Kimberly Hoover-Eddy of Danville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Adam Hoover, Ryan Armstead, Daine Eddy, Anna Eddy, Rachael Armstead, Alexander Armstead; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Saufley Post #18. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Officiating the service will be Rev. Caroline Kelly.
