Paul McCarty Furr, 86, of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, died Monday, August 19, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Wilmington, North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church. Burial will follow at a later date in Kentucky.

Mr. Furr was born in Boyle County, Kentucky. He served his country with the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Jodene Doughty of Mt. Airy, Maryland and DeAnne Kleiner of Gilbert, Arizona; two stepsons, Mark Dwelle of Richmond, Virginia and Robert Dwelle of Long Beach, California; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
