Three indicted by Garrard County grand jury

The following people were indicted by a Garrard County grand jury on Aug. 16:
• William Z. Maggard, 20, Lancaster: first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Bail was set at $5,000 cash. Officer Smithson with the Lancaster Police Department testified. Theft by unlawful taking of property belonging to Rite Aid valued between $500 and $10,000; first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument; attempted bribery of a public servant. Bail was set at $5,000 cash. Officer Shearer with the LPD testified.
• Michael Brown, 35, Danville: first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, methamphetamine; first-degree fleeing or evading police; possession of drug paraphernalia; reckless driving. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. Michael Wilson with Garrard County Police Department testified.
• Paul David Brown, 40, Lancaster: receiving stolen property (truck) valued more than $10,000. Bail was set at $5,000 cash. Officer Gibson with the GCPD testified.
