Terry and Kathy Martin of Burgin announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Alyssa Martin to Patrick Barnett, the son of Carlton and Ansley Barnett, Jr., of Augusta, Georgia. 

The bride-elect is a 2014 graduate of Burgin Independent School and a 2018 graduate of Asbury University, having majored in Psychology with an emphasis on Biological Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Martin is currently a student at UK and will graduate in 2021 with a Masters Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She also works part-time at Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries. She is the granddaughter of Robert Joe and Esther Martin of Danville and Glenda and the late Jerry Gray of Burgin.

The groom-elect is a 2014 graduate of John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and a 2018 graduate of Asbury University, having majored in Media Communications with an emphasis in Entertainment Management. Barnett is currently working as a technician at Audio Visual Techniques. He is the grandson of Carlton and Margret Barnett, Sr., and Jack and Pat Sartain.

The couple will be married on Oct. 19, 2019.
