Shirley Ann Adams

1939-2019

Shirley Ann Adams, 79, of Danville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, September 12, at her residence.

Shirley was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on December 27, 1939. She was a daughter of the late Otis Newland and Martha (Hacker) Walls. Shirley was the widow of Benton C. Adams who preceded her in death on January 26, 2003. She had worked as a waitress for the historic Beaumont Inn located in Harrodsburg. Shirley was a member of the Salt River Baptist Church and attended the Southern Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Denny Ray Adams and his wife, Diane Fiolek of Tarpon Springs, Florida; son, Danny “Mickey” Adams and his wife, Connie of Danville; special niece, Christy Prather; brother, John Earl Walls of Danville; four grandchildren, Michael Adams, Kara Adams, Amber and husband Strawberry Dodson and Nick Adams; special great niece, Megan Prather; and a great granddaughter, Abigail Adams.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by seven brothers, Harold, Elmer, Tommy, Frankie, Calvin, Delbert and Jimmy Walls.

Funeral services 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Sallee, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard.

Pallbearers include Jimmy, Ronnie, Brian and Dwayne Walls, David Coffman and Keith McGuffey. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Walls, Christy Prather and Dr. David Overstreet.
