Our featured pets this week are Patches and Rufus.

Patches is a very pretty long-haired calico cat. She is a little over 1-year-old and was surrendered to the humane society, because her owner found out she was allergic to cats. Patches is a sweet and quiet girl with beautiful coat markings and emerald green eyes. She is happy napping in a cozy cat cave bed or on one of the higher perches in the kitty condo. If you are looking for a calm kitty that would be a good match for a quieter home, then Patches may be your purrfect feline companion!

Rufus is a good-looking black and white mixed breed. He’s about 1- to 2-years-old and may be a lab and Border Collie cross. Rufus is a big fellow and weighs 60 pounds. Rufus’ previous owner was no longer able to care for him, so he is looking for a loving home where he will have a fresh start. Rufus is a happy and energetic boy and will do best with a family that can give him the exercise and attention that he needs. Can you open your heart and home to this lovable and handsome fellow?

We’re looking forward to a great turnout for our 6th Annual Pints for Pets Pup Crawl fundraiser this Saturday in downtown Danville. Activities begin at Weisiger Park at 1 p.m. with the featured corn hole tournament and continue into the evening with the Pup Crawl, until participating venues close. It will be a full afternoon and evening of fun. Event tickets, which include a cool t-shirt, are still available and can be purchased the day of the event at Weisiger Park beginning at noon. The cost starts at $25 with a short-sleeved shirt. Long-sleeved shirts are also available. Wearing your t-shirt for the evening Pup Crawl will make you eligible for discounts at the participating venues and there will be plenty of door prizes. Plan on joining the fun this Saturday.
