Minnie “Jewel” Whitworth

1924-2019

Minnie “Jewel” Whitworth, 95, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019. She was born September 9, 1924 in Ringgold, Louisiana, a daughter of the late Madison and Dera Woodall Hatchett and was the widow of Wilson Whitworth.

Jewel was a homemaker and moved to this area from Shreveport, Louisiana. She enjoyed taking care of her home, her younger siblings and attending church.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha Whitworth Taylor and her husband Thomas; her son, Thomas David Whitworth; four grandchildren, Andrew (Rachel) Taylor, Jennell (Mathew) Devers, Stephen (Crystal) Taylor, William (Amanda) Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Cody and Max Devers and Eric Taylor.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jewel was preceded in death by four siblings.

A graveside service will be held in Shreveport, Louisiana on Friday, September 20, 2019 conducted by Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Walden Funeral Home Perryville
