Free health screenings on Oct. 24
Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring a free health screening on Oct. 24 at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville. The free screenings will be offered from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended. To schedule an appointment, call (859) 236-2581.
Health screenings include cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, flu shots and stroke-risk scorecard. After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional.
Participants should not eat 12 hours prior to their screening if they would like to have the blood test that gives them a full lipid panel. This gives the participant detailed information including their HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose. Medications except for diabetic medications may be taken with water.
The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 years of age and older.
