The Forkland Bluebird Quilt will be among donated items in the annual silent auction at the 48th Annual Forkland Heritage Festival Friday and Saturday.

The quilt was created for the 2019 festival from a sketched bluebird quilt pattern with fabric samples found last year in the files of the late Wilma Rae Ellis Ewbank, who was born and raised in Forkland.

The quilt committee chose the pattern and selected fabric for this year’s quilt.

Mary Yoder, a former resident of the Forkland community, cut, pieced and hand-quilted the bluebird and flower motif to create this year’s work of art. The quilt measures 96 inches by 102 inches.
