Women’s Network announces meeting on criminal justice issues 

The Women’s Network (Boyle) announces an Open Meeting on Criminal Justice, A Local Corrections Perspective 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Inter-County Energy Community

Room, 1009 Hustonville Road, Danville.

Brian Wofford, Jailor at the Boyle County Jail and Warden Brad Adams of at Northpoint Prison will speak on the challenges that the corrections systems faces dealing with addiction treatment, overcrowding and rehabilitation. All are invited.  For more information, call (859) 236-9305.

 

Correction 

Catherine Trombley, public information officer for the Lexington VA Health Care System, says there is no reported increase of veterans losing their benefits due to an automated auditing system. She feels that due to a 24-hour news cycle with social media, there is now more coverage of the issue. Trombley was paraphrased incorrectly in the story about local vet Paul Chandler that printed in the weekend edition.

Boyle County Fiscal Court Solid Waste/Recycle Committee — 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. The meeting was previously scheduled on Nov. 5.

 Boyle County Fiscal Court Animal Control Committee — 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. It had previously been scheduled on Nov. 5.

Garden Club of Danville — 1 p.m. Nov. 6 at The Presbyterian Church of Danville, 500 W. Main St. The program will be Holiday Decorating Fun, led by Garden Club members Fran Halloran and Beth Leahey, to create a new kitchen decoration.
