Danville traffic stop leads to multiple drug charges

After police conducted a routine traffic stop this weekend, a woman was ultimately arrested for multiple drug charges.

Danville Police Officer Ashleigh Koch conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:15 p.m. Saturday, due to the vehicle having expired registration. Officer David Lewis also responded and deployed his K-9 partner, Samu. As a result, officers located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, pills and drug paraphernalia.

Police say the investigation led to the arrest of Katherine Pierce, 45, of Waynesburg. She was charged with: first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), first offense; possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; first-degree possession of a controlled drug (drug unspecified), first offense; and tampering with physical evidence.

Pierce was being held in the Boyle County Detention Center Monday.
