Pets of the Week, Nov. 27

Published 3:36 pm Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Our featured pets this week are Patty and Rosie.

Rosie is a precious 12 week old kitten. She is white with tabby markings and a fluffy, medium length coat and cute tufts of hair in her ears. Rosie was a stray that was brought in with several littermates. She was too small for adoption when she first came to the humane society but is now big enough for her forever home. Rosie and her brothers are a little shy at first with new people, but quickly warm up to cuddling. She will blossom with love and attention from her new family and grow to be a gorgeous feline companion!

Patty is a sweet-natured 2-year-old mixed breed. She’s a pretty golden brown with lots of white on her face, chest and legs. Patty weighs less than 50 lbs and looks like she could be a Pit Bull and hound mix. This special girl loves attention and wants to be close to her handler so she can get lots of petting and hugs. Patty has a quieter personality and plays well with other dogs. She appears to have had at least one litter of puppies, but this charming girl has now been spayed and is ready for a fresh start in a new home as a cherished member of the family.

In this week of Thanksgiving, we’d like to thank to all the wonderful people in the community who support the work of the DBCHS. We could never accomplish all that we do without the help of our wonderful volunteers. They perform office duties at the humane society and greet and assist visitors. They work tirelessly at our Happy Paws Spay/Neuter Clinic. Volunteers run the Mutts With Manners training program. They also put in many hours each week at the humane society to help the dogs and cats feel loved and cared for while they wait for their forever homes.

We are thankful for our skilled local veterinarians who provide medical services and adoption surgeries. We thank our very generous donors who support our mission with monetary gifts and donations of needed supplies. And we thank our adopters who open their hearts and their homes to the precious animals. We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes.  Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment.  Please help control the pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
