1937-2019

Nancy Murphy McGuffey, 82, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born in Stanford, KY on March 3, 1937 to the late Fred Murphy and Alice Sprinkles Murphy. She retired from Lincoln County School Board after working 30 years as a teacher’s assistant, cook and bus monitor. She was a member of Highland Methodist Church in Highland, KY.

Survivors include one son, Mike McGuffey (Sherry) of Stanford, KY; one daughter, Barbara Young (Keith) of Halls Gap, KY; one sister, Sandra James (Larry); two grandchildren, Julie Singleton (Brian) and Amaya McGuffey; two great-grandchildren, Sydney Mullins and Kaylee Singleton; one niece, Becky B’ebe; and one nephew, Josh James.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville McGuffey.

A graveside service has been scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Highland Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Mike McLean officiating the service. Burial will follow at Highland Methodist Cemetery.
