Bobby M. Montgomery

1942-2019

Bobby M. Montgomery, 77, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY. Born on June 3, 1942 in Lancaster, KY to the late Alvin Montgomery and Lydia Thompson Montgomery. He worked in construction for his uncles in his younger years and had his own Montgomery Construction Company for over 40 years. Bob was a member of Stanford Baptist Church, served on the Stanford Planning and Zoning committee and ran the clock for Lincoln County High School Football games for over 20 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, son, granddaddy, friend and much more. He was an avid UK fan and enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Dix River Golf Club in Stanford.

Survivors include a son, Scott Montgomery (Suzanne) of Stanford, KY; a daughter, Karen Patterson (Steve) of Stanford, KY; three grandchildren, Kristin Williams (Bruce), Connor Patterson and Ryan Montgomery; two great-grandchildren, Annabelle Williams and Jack Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral will be on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.

Active pallbearers are Connor Patterson, Ryan Montgomery, Bruce Williams, Jason Henegar, Kevin Cornelius and Anthony Shearer. Honorary Pallbearers are Fred Reichenbach, Bobby Young, David Murphy, Ronnie Young, Dr. Rod Bates, Dienzel Dennis, Buddy Maupin and Buddy Rogers.
