1961-2020

Morris Blaine Tinsley, 58, of Danville, KY passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born November 3, 1961 in Stanford, KY to the late Gary Laswell and Sharlene Faye Tinsley, he graduated from both the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University, obtaining his bachelors degree in Business, and was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. Blaine loved to travel and enjoyed going to yard sales. He never met a stranger, always had a smile, enjoyed aggravating his friends, and was a special person to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved kids, and enjoyed volunteering his time for the United Way. He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Ron Burgen of Danville, KY; one daughter, Allison Rice; two brothers, Marlon Tinsley of South Fork, KY, and Mike Griffin of Elsmere, KY; one sister, Yvonne Tinsley of New Salem, KY; three grandchildren, Cayleb Rice, Aidan Rice, and Christian Rice; three nieces; one nephew; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Pam Madden; his grandmother; “Grandma” Juey Tinsley; and a great-aunt; Myrtle Reed. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford from 5-9pm. Funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Naylor officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, KY. Active pallbearers are: Marlon Tinsley, Mike Griffin, Kerry Hoskins, Cheyeanna Tinsley, Chelsea Tinsley, Jason Hoskins, Ricky Simmerman, and Andrew Simmerman. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers at American Greetings, Inc.
