Pets of the Week

Published 5:24 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Our featured pets this week are Bonnie and Delilah. We are featuring two canines because we are delighted to report that all our shelter kitties have found new homes! We are sure to have more cats in the future and kitten season is just around the corner, but for now we are thrilled that our precious kitties that were with us last week all have forever homes. Thank you to all our wonderful adopters for making this possible!

Bonnie

Bonnie is a beautiful 4-year-old shepherd-husky mix who weighs approximately 50 pounds. She came to the shelter because her owner’s other dog did not get along with Bonnie. She is fearful of larger female dogs, but does great with smaller dogs, especially males who love to run and play. Bonnie is great at mediating conflicts in the play yard, enjoys vigorous games of chase and soaks in the kiddie pool, regardless of weather. She is looking for someone who will give her a chance to be her majestic self, in return you will receive the trusting companionship of a very smart gal!

Delilah is a pretty lab and Pit Bull mix adult. She has a shiny black coat with a splash of white on her chest. When Delilah was surrendered to the humane society she was scared and timid. It is difficult to say if this behavior was due to being in new surroundings or if it was because of prior mistreatment. But with some one on one attention and the great therapy of doggie play groups sessions, she is now a loving and confident gal and enjoys romping with her doggie friends. Delilah is eager to please and she’s ready to bring her happy personality to her new forever home!

The Happy Paws Spay Neuter Clinic is temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a difficult decision, but the safety of our clients, staff and the community are our highest priority. Those with appointments scheduled for their pets will be notified by phone of cancellations and we will work to reschedule surgeries as soon as possible. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
