Ruby Ethel Vincent Smith

1920-2020

Ruby Ethel Vincent Smith, 100, of Mt. Salem passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Born March 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late David G. and Eliza Robinson Vincent. 

Ruby was a 1939 graduate of McKinney High School. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, and especially loved to crochet. She had worked at both Palm Beach and Jackson Chair. 

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold “Cotton” Smith, sons, Richard Smith and Gary Smith, and grandson, Todd Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Greg) Norris of Lexington and daughter-in-law, Betty Smith of Moreland; six grandchildren: Jeannie Gayle (David) Hurst of Garrard County, Keith (Brooke) Norris of Mt. Sterling, Kelly (Wanda) Norris of Wilmore, Missy (Marc) Miller of Lexington, Tracy (Larry) Salyers of New Salem, Michael Smith of New Salem; granddaughter-in-law, Joyce Smith of Casey County; two step-granddaughters, Donna (Mike) Martin and Karen Brown of Jefferson County; eleven great grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.
