Danville Police briefs

The following are some of the calls Danville Police Officers handled during the week of April 20:

Monday, 12:43 a.m. — Danville Police observed a road rage incident in progress in the middle of Shakertown Road. During their investigation of the incident, Noah Smith, 22, of Danville, attempted to hide narcotics on the side of the road. Officers located three large bags of synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia placed over the a guardrail. Smith was arrested and upon arrival at the Boyle County Detention Center was found to be in possession of suspected heroin concealed inside his undergarments. Smith faces charges of: trafficking synthetic drugs; possession of drug paraphernalia; tampering with physical evidence; promoting contraband; and possession of a controlled substance, heroin. 

Also arrested during the investigation was Alexis Wright, 22, of Danville. Wright was arrested on an active bench warrant. Once at the BCDC, Wright was found concealing marijuana on her person which she had attempted to conceal and hide from jail staff. Wright was additionally charged with promoting contraband; possession of marijuana; and tampering with physical evidence.

As of Saturday afternoon, both suspects were not listed as inmates in the jail.

Danville Police were assisted in the investigation by the Boyle County Sheriffs Office.

Tuesday, 1:10 p.m. — Officers responded to the area of the South Danville Bypass near Lebanon Road for an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival officers located Daniel Richardson, 37, of Harrodsburg. Richardson had just recently been released from the detention center. Officers determined Richardson was under the influence of suspected narcotics and was arrested for public intoxication and was transported back to jail.

Tuesday, 2:29 p.m. —

Eric Garcia Nieves

Officers investigated the burglary and theft of a firearm from a residence in Danville. They were able to determine a suspect who was believed to have located a hidden key to the victim’s home, unlawfully entering and taking a .38 Smith and Wesson handgun.

After further investigation officers located Eric Garcia-Nieves, 39, of Danville in the area of North Fourth Street. Garcia-Nieves was taken into custody for public intoxication; burglary; and theft of a firearm. A search warrant was obtained and executed on Garcia-Nieves’ residence where the stolen firearm was located.

Saturday afternoon, Garcia-Nieves was listed as an inmate at the jail on a $5,000 cash bond.

Wednesday, 3:30 a.m. — While on patrol officers located a suspicious vehicle on Stanford Road. The driver, Erin Wells, 40, of Danville, was found to have an active arrest warrant. Methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle during a search. Wells was arrested for his active warrant and charged with operating on a suspended license; no insurance; improper registration plate; drug paraphernalia; and possession of a controlled substance, meth.

Danville Police were assisted at the scene by the Boyle County Sheriffs Office.

Saturday afternoon, Wells was listed as an inmate at the jail on a bond of 10% of $5,000.
