Mary Elizabeth Minor Gilmer

1927-2020

Mary Elizabeth Minor Gilmer, 93 of Danville passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020. Born April 27, 1927 in the Forkland area of Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Cutter Minor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Gilmer, Jr. 

Mary is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was a past president of Business and Professional Women in Danville, a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution – St. Asaph Chapter, and of the Twilight Homemakers Club. 

Mary is survived by her daughters, Louise (Sidney) Farmer of Texas and Liz (Troy) Martin of Georgetown; son, John Wesley Gilmer, III (Gail Amsley Lumm) of Texas; and grandchildren: Megan (Dave) Duran of IN, Ryan (Heather) Magee of OH, Phillip Martin and fiance, Catherine Jarrell of Georgetown and Rachel Martin of Georgetown. 

Honorary Pallbearers are: Bill Kirkland, Bob Kirkland, Bill Loran, Glenn Gorley, Vince Pennington, Bill Blair, Mike Leake, Joe Simpson, Marie Stuart, Linda Hundley, Donald Hayden, Darlene Wooten, and her caregivers, Jeanette Beldon, Teresa McGhee, Emily Fain, and Carrie Barnett. A private Graveside Service will be held at Hustonville Cemetery.
