Sandy was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was active in Sunday School class and served on several committees. She worked at Melton’s Florist and at The Derby Shop/Raggs, but her favorite role was that of mother and grandmother. Her house was an open home for any kid who wanted a warm meal and a mom-hug.

She loved making babies laugh during quiet moments in church and sneaking illegal fireworks to her grandchildren. She enjoyed having morning coffee in the sunshine, especially when she could hear the ocean. She will be remembered for her giving spirit, her servant’s heart, and her macaroni and cheese.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Gorley; sons, Steven (Courtney) Boyd of Lexington and Ashley (Mandy) Gorley of Nashville; daughter, Tammy (Steve) Carr of Danville; sisters, Linda (Perry) Crosthwaite of IN and Judy Gilbert of Stanford; and seven grandchildren: Rebecca (Jason) Davis, Rachel Carr, Sally and Clay Boyd, and Caleb, Sadie, and Kyler Gorley.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry C. Alexander. Due to COVID-19, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com that friends and loved ones may sign at this time. Memorial contributions are suggested to Centenary United Methodist Church, 1441 Perryville Rd, Danville, KY 40422 or http://giving.danvillecumc.org
