Accounting college scholarships awarded

The Educational Foundation of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KyCPA) has awarded $82,679 in scholarships to college students studying accounting on behalf of the Foundation and other benefactors.

Josiah Robbins, son of Matthew and Amy Robbins from Danville received the KPMG LLP Scholarship. Robbins is an accounting, business administration and Christian studies major at the University of the Cumberlands. 

Katherine Doty, daughter of Jonathan and Allison Doty from Danville received a KyCPA Educational Foundation Scholarship. Doty is an accounting major at Asbury University. 

Scholarship award letters were sent on the first of April to students who met academic criteria set forth by KyCPA’s Educational Foundation Board of Trustees, which awards the non-profit organization’s scholarships annually. In lieu of recognizing students at the KyCPA Spring Banquet, which was canceled due to current events, KyCPA created a congratulatory video that was posted on their website at www.kycpa.org/edfoundation/scholarship.

 

BCTC honors top students

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is honoring its top students for the 2019-20 academic year. Thirty-two students, two from each of the 16 colleges, were selected for the KCTCS All-Academic Team. Students were chosen based on a rigorous process that focuses on academic performance and community service.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College honored Cassidy Caid and Anna Santrock.

 

Kings Mountain school reunion cancelled

KINGS MOUNTAIN — The Kings Mountain School Reunion typically held on Memorial Day Weekend at Kings Mountain Christian Church is cancelled due to issues related to COVID-19
