1955-2020
Leo Burger, 64, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020. Leo was born in Danville on November 3, 1955 and was the son of Ocea Pendygraft Burger and the late William Leo Burger, Sr. He was the husband of 42 years to Sharon Bottom Burger.
Leo was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ and worked as a coal yard operator for Kentucky Utilities. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. Leo was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Boyle County Football program. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing. However, most of all, Leo loved the people around him, especially his family, friends, and church family.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Sharon, include two sisters, Sue (Conley) Bastin, and Penny (Dave) McDaniel, a brother, Barry (Lori) Burger, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Showroom in Danville. The funeral will then begin at 2 p.m., with Kenneth Barker officiating. Interment will follow at the family’s residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials go to the Sycamore Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will bear Larry Curtis, Shane Burger, Dave McDaniel, Conley Bastin, Bruce Robbins, and Eddie Carpenter. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jerry Royalty
