Pearl Cocanougher

1935-2020

Pearl Cocanougher, 84, passed away Saturday June 27, 2020. She was born in Danville, Kentucky on September 2, 1935 a daughter of the late Byron and Lucinda Leffew Matherly. She was the wife of 56 years to Jimmie Cocanougher.

Pearl was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was an LPN at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. She enjoyed singing gospel music and was one of the three members of the Gospel Harmonettes trio. She played piano, enjoyed crocheting and she was the bond that held her family together.

In addition to her husband, Jimmie, Pearl is survived by a son, Steve (Betsy) Cook, two grandchildren, Lauren (Brandon) Wilkerson, Dustin Cook, and two great-grandchildren, Makenzi and Landon Coe.

Along with her parents Pearl was preceded in death by five siblings.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday June 30, 2020 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Maurice Trayner officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Cook, Landon Coe, Jimmy Browning, Ricky Shannon, Early Lee Matherly, and Johnny Matherly.
