Marlene Cocanougher

1947-2020

Marlene Cocanougher, 72, of Stanford, KY passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation. Born on September 9, 1947 in Stanford, KY to the late Loyd “Strutt” Miracle and Lula Belle Sowders Miracle. 

She worked in housekeeping management for most of her life. She was the manager of the very first Holiday Inn in Danville, KY and finished her career working in Environmental Services Department at Centre College. Marlene enjoyed fishing and loved to travel. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Dwayne Miracle (Beverly) of Stanford, KY and Max Miracle (Gayle) of Stanford, KY; one sister, Linda Rankin (Bruce) of Stanford, KY; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Rona Hale of Stanford, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd “Strutt” Miracle and Lula Belle Sowders Miracle.

A one day service has been scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Ky. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with the funeral beginning at 4:00 p.m. Bro. David Conrades and Bro. Johnny Thompson will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Shawn Miracle, Jeff Southerland, C.J. Lynn, Bryan Isenberg, Dylan Isenberg, Brad Petrey and Jason Petrey. Honorary Pallbearers are Brett Miracle, Keith Singleton, Mike Singleton, Mike Perros, Susan Kirkpatrick.
