Vernettie May (Allen) Smith

1935-2020

Vernettie May (Allen) Smith, 85, of Stanford passed away Wednesday, July 15th, at The Stanford Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Charles Edward Smith who preceded her in death on Febraury 22, 2010. May was born in Rockcastle Co., Kentucky on March 24, 1935, a daughter of the late Bev and Mary Hallie (Carpenter) Allen. She was a former employee for American Greetings and was a homemaker. May was a member of the Eastern Star and was a loving mother and grandmother.

May is survived by Sons, Bev Charles (Brenda) Dennie of Florida, James Robert (Peggy) Greene of Junction City & Garry Lee (Rhonda) Greene of Stanford; and Daughter, April Gehlhausen of Stanford; three Sisters, Millie Hunley, Jessie Conway & Louise Sears; Eight Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, May was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Greene; four brothers, Claude, Gerald, Lamonte & Thomas Allen; and a Sister, Mary Roller.

Cremation rites have been honored and at this time no services have been scheduled.
